Hypertensive Care:

High blood pressure (hypertension) is diagnosed if the blood pressure reading is equal to or greater than 130/80 mm Hg. A diagnosis of high blood pressure is usually based on the average of two or more readings taken on separate occasions.

If your blood pressure is consistently high, it’s important to discuss with your healthcare provider about the most appropriate treatment plan, which may include lifestyle changes and/or medication. It’s also important to monitor your blood pressure regularly, even if you don’t have a diagnosis of hypertension. Untreated high blood pressure can lead to serious health problems such as heart attack, stroke, and kidney failure.
